Spree Commerce is a full featured open source e-commerce platform created in 2007 by Sean Schonfield that allows us to create large e-commerce sites with different products and features.
As it is written in Ruby and based on Ruby on Rails platform it makes it possible to integrate their storefronts with their backends.
Flexible and easy to use, it is designed to simplify programming commerce applications by making several assumptions about what most developers need to get started. For instance, it allows integration of multiple selling points, payment gateways and shipping channels into one single storefront and the modularity of the platform allows quick and easy customization.
Spree it is a production ready store and it is our reference platform for the development of ecommerce businesses. In fact, we can completely customize its behaviour based on customer requests.
We have been working on it since the first versions of the platform, so it has no secrets for us.
